Done with the test

Image
A long day is finally over. We arrived at the hospital at about 10Am today and left at 2PM. As I've said, the test ran for 3 hours. The nurse had to draw blood from me for 4 times. I didn't have much problem with it. She can do it as many times as she wants to. The only complaint I had was my hunger. I was only allowed to drink water. I had to skip dinner (last night), breakfast and lunch today just for that test. So weak was I, but had nothing to do but to obey what I had been told to do so. Just glad it's over now. I am just waiting for the result which will probably be ready on the next days. Hope it's fine.

Be back this afternoon...maybe

Last week, I was in the hospital for my monthly check-up and a 28 week lab test. Well, yesterday I got the result. The doctor called me up for information. It ain't positive at all. My blood sugar is a 'lil bit high and for that, I have to repeat the test which would run up to 3 hours. Not an hour anymore like last week. I will have again that glucose drink and then wait for 3 hours before they drawn blood from me for testing. I had to fast (dinner and breakfast) just for this test as advised by the doctor. I didn't fast last week though and maybe that's why I got that result. Now, I am really gonna follow what has been told for me to do...don't wanna repeat this test. Hopefully, it would be fine this time...

A bill from Parenting.com?

Yesterday, an envelope from Parenting.com arrived. When I opened it, I was pissed off reading the note for a 20$ subscription which I will be paying. How would I pay such amount where I never get any magazines from them? Most of all I never subscribe. I don't need those magazines since I can get informations online. I really hate this kind of thing.

Thoughtful Anne

Image
gifts from Tita Anne for baby Dannielle Truly, you can meet somebody online -- partner or friends. I met my hubby and a lot of friends thru the net. Anne is one of them. I just dunno why we get along this great. It's like we met a long time ago and been friends for a century. We actually call each other now as "best", short for bestfriend. We're online bestfriends. Today, I received two boxes from her in my mailbox. She already told me ahead that she sent something for me or for Dannielle though. What's really great is that, I never really expected she would do this kind of thing. She's just so thoughtful and I really like her for that (not because of the gift of course). Her thoughtfulness is beyond giving gifts, she always do come by or visit my blogs as often as she can like almost 3 times a day or more and even communicates with me thru e-mails. Thanks sis for the friendship!

Baby shower photos

Image
Here are the photos I promised. I know some of you are very eager to view these pics. It's kinda late as I was really tired. I rested the whole day though. My ninja power is starting to be fine now (lol). Note : You can laugh with my photos as I do admit I really look bad (lol) hahaha...

Preparing for the shower

It's 12:11AM here and here I am, still wide awake. I've been cleaning the house for hours. I want everything to look presentable for everybody tomorrow. I started with the car park which will be used by the guys and some kids for games. I washed it with soap and water for a fresh smell. Followed to that was the whole house including the porch. I rearranged the furnitures in the living area and added some plants. Tired as I am but satisfied with the result and I'm ready for tomorrow. This is the only contribution I have and I should be thankful for it. I didn't spend any penny for this occasion. I will be posting some pics soon.

Baby shower for Dannielle...countdown

Tomorrow, Dannielle will be showered with wishes, gifts and everything. The party is organized by Chad's family and Tanya, Chad's friend. Actually, there were a lot then who wanted to host the party. They are so excited for our baby. Clothes, toys and gears filled Dannielle's room now. Take note that the shower is set tomorrow and we got all those stuff. What more after the shower? It's just a blessing for me and Chad. Our baby is so lucky, too, having these people around us giving her special attention though she's not born yet.

A red rose from Gerthy

Image
A friend Gerthy gave me this rose. So sweeet! Thanks sis!. This reminds of special occasions such as birthdays, and oh! mother's day and more. I was just searching for a website where I could send flowers to my mom on Mother's day a couple of minutes ago. Anyway, let me forward this rose to my loving and thoughtful online friends. To chechay , del , cheerful , ging , gmunchkin , gracey , nina , tess , tricia and vannie here's a red rose for ya'll.

America's worst cities for allergies

This season is very common for allergy which couldn't stop you from sneezing. The reason behind this is climate change and weather patterns which caused trees to ordinarily bloom over the course of a month to pollinate at once. So before it gets worse, just go to the nearest drugstore for a medication. Here's the bottom 25 from the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America : 25. Philadelphia, PA - 12. Mobile, AL 24. Present today!

I was absent yesterday due to scheduled monthly check-up. The last monthly check-up that me and DAnnielle had. After that, we'll be back after 2 weeks. Twice in a month til I give birth. I had my 28 lab test yesterday which took us hours to stay in the doctor's clinic or hospital. I had a bottle of glucose drink for diabetes and blood was drawn from me for TB, HIV and everything. Are we fine? Yes, we are. I was so glad that again, I heard Dannielle's heartbeat. She even kicked when the doctor manipulated that tool on my tummy. She was so cooperative as the doctor said. My tummy's measurement was perfect. We just have to wait for the lab test result on Monday.

Ouchhh!... my back

This is it! What I've been expecting since has come. My back is really hurting. I know it has something to do with pregnancy. My baby is getting heavier as well as my breasts. Before, I can sleep with just a pillow under my head but not anymore nowadays. I have two pillows to elevate my back and head. It helps though. Still have over 2 months to sacrifice. After that...let's see. No more back pains but I know it'll be more than that.

Steps on how to change baby's diaper

As early as possible, I am feeding myself with the information I need in taking care of my baby. I still have 2 more months though. Now, I searched the web about changing diapers for newly born. This is for parents who plans to use or using disposable diapers which I eventually will, too. Here's how : Make sure you have everything you need nearby. Lay your baby on his back on the changing surface. If you are using a changing table, it's recommended to use the safety straps. Unfasten the diaper tabs. You can raise your child's bottom off the diaper by gently grasping his ankles and lifting. If there is a lot of bowel movement present, you may want to use the upper half of the diaper to gently sweep it towards the lower half of the diaper. If you are changing a girl, make sure you always wipe from front to back to help prevent infection. Slide the diaper away from the baby and place nearby, but out of reach of baby. If your baby is a newborn, you will want to cleanse t

Dating tips for short guys and tall women

Here are the tips written by Elizabeth Roehrig: Hurdle #1: Fewer men approach tall women Many of my tall friends, myself included, are very open to dating shorter men—the problem is often that they steer clear of us, thinking that we’re “too tall” given the expectation that guys will loom over their dates. Patricia Barba, 34, of Greenwich, CT, who’s just shy of six feet, had a male co-worker spell out to her why she’s so often left on the sidelines. “We were at our holiday party, and a co-worker who’s around my height asked if I’d like to dance. I said yes and mentioned that not many men ask me to dance, and he said it’s because men must find my height imposing. That was hard to hear!” Other times, men aren’t so straightforward and their preferences come across in the form of a subtler snub. “When I’m out at a bar, I’m the one who talks to all the guys and gets the conversation going,” says Richelle, 27, who’s 6’ and from Boston. “But usually at the end of the evening, th

A baby boy causes depression for moms?

If this is true, then I am glad as I am having a baby girl. My husband worries about me having a severe postpartum depression after I give birth to our angel. I do always tell him not to worry. I will try to hold or handle it. We will, with his help. So far, this doesn't affect me as I haven't heard from new moms (friends) about this. I hope I won't. I was checking my e-mail and found this information on the main page of MSN . Please click child's gender factors into postpartum depression to read the whole article of Lisa Farino.

Breastfeeding

I have my mind set that I will breastfeed my baby. Firstly, I want her to be healthy. One more thing, the savings that we'll have. Instead of buying formula, we'll just spend for other necessities like her diapers, vitamins, insurance and more. I searched about breastfeeding on the net and found helpful infos for moms-to-be like me. Definition : Breastfeeding is the feeding of an infant or young child with breast milk directly from a woman's breasts, not from a baby bottle or other container. Babies have a sucking reflex that enables them to suck and swallow milk. The following are links about breastfeeding: breastfeeding breastfeeding : strategies for success how to breastfeed how to stop breastfeeding

Baby in the basket

Image
Isn't it cute? I always look at this picture. This niece of mine loves to be in the basket, pail and or anything that she's stuck in it. She looks so happy but she's poor. Her parents left her when she was still a month old. Louise is my niece by my brother. My bro really didn't leave her for good. It just so happen that he's a military and have no choice but to serve. He goes home once or twice a year which makes them see each other rarely. He can't take care of the baby as well. My brother's gf, Louise' mom never came back to see her. She said she'll be back in a week to take care of something in Manila and never did. Louise will be a year old this July. Glad my parents are taking care of this sweet lil girl. She's just lucky enough she's the first grandchild. Everybody is delighted of having her.

Awit Kay Inay

A friend here asked me then about my background music. Also, I got compliments for it. Thanks to you! The song "Awit ky Inay" is performed by Carol Banawa. I have chosen this as my background music as my blog also talks about motherhood. Also, to give tribute to all the mothers. Like you, the first time I heard this song, I really felt a pinch in my heart. Just that I realized how great my mother is and oftentimes rejected those goodness. So friends here's the lyrics. Walang inang matitiis

Cord blood banking

I've been receiving mails from different organizations and agencies pertaining to cord blood banking. I am not new to this anymore as I read some infos from magazines and from the booklets sent to me by cord blood banking companies. This process is indeed helpful for my baby's future as well as to her siblings (if ever we want more). This is like a miracle medicine that cures cancers and other sickness. I want to but this is really so expensive. How I wish I am that rich to provide anything for my baby. Anyways, I found informations about cord blood banking and perhaps sharing this to you would be quite helpful as well. Just click the following links to access the infos : cord blood banking cord blood banking

Fertility Treatments

There are couple who barely can't conceive a child because of infertility. If you're you are one of them, then this info is best for you to read. Looking for the cause Since the causes of infertility are just as likely to lie with the man as with the woman, both halves of a couple should have some basic tests if they are having trouble getting pregnant. All of these can be done at your regular gynecologist’s office (or, in the case of semen analysis, at the urologist), are inexpensive, and in many cases will be covered by insurance. “It makes sense to start with these non-invasive tests since they can yield a lot of meaningful information very easily,” says Minkin. Semen analysis : It takes two to make a baby, so it’s important for the male partner to have his semen analyzed to screen for any potential problems. A lab will analyze the sample to check for the volume of sperm, the thickness of the fluid, the motility of the sperm (how fast they swim around), and the

Baby with 2 faces born in India

Image
A baby with two faces was born in a northern Indian village. She is doing great despite of her appearance. She is now worshipped as the reincarnation of a Hindu goddess according to the parents. The baby is named Lali. She has this rare condition which they call the craniofacial duplication, wherein a single head has two faces. All of Lali's facial features are duplicated. She has two noses, two pairs of lips and two pairs of eyes except for her ears.

History of midwives

It's very common in the Philippines that midwives attend to a pregnant needs. Aside from their charge is cheap or free of charge, you can also ask their help at no monetary cost. Not to mention to go to your house for a check-up in case you have trouble going to the health centers. Midwives are commonly paid by the government but there are some who have their own clinics. Now, I wanna share with you how midwifery/midwives started. It's important to know the history for our own understanding. HISTORY: The word "midwife" comes from Old English and means "with woman." Midwives have helped women deliver babies since the beginning of history. References to midwives are found in ancient Hindu records, in Greek and Roman manuscripts, and even in the Bible. As early as 1560, Parisian midwives had to pass a licensing examination and abide by regulations to practice. Not all midwives had this level of education, however. English midwives received little formal t

Four Birthing Alternatives

Here, four common alternatives to the standard way to birth a baby: Water birth What it is: Sitting in water—usually a special, deep tub—and giving birth. Its popularity: Water Birth International, which sells special birthing tubs, said that in 1991, just two hospitals in the U.S. used its tubs. Now, that number is at 300 and counting. The pros: It’s more comfortable, there’s less chance of the vagina tearing, and when the babies emerge, it’s not such a shock to them—they’ve been in fluid for the past nine months. “With my first child born in a bed, I had six stitches,” says Dawn Glossa, a 35-year-old who recently had a baby in a Chicago hospital’s tub. “But with my second baby, I didn’t have any [stitches]. Labor was faster, and I broke my water naturally this time. The water made everything easier.” The cons: Though it’s rare, babies can drown, their umbilical cord can snap and mom or baby can get an infection. Home sweet home What it is: Having your baby, usually w

Black underarm

Another dilemma of mine. My armpits are dark now...huhuhu...It wasn't like this before anyway. Just hoping it'll get lighter or will back to normal after I gave birth.
