Breastfeeding raises children's IQ

"Natural is the best". A mother's milk is full of nutrition for the baby. It has all the natural goodness that a formula can't provide.

I always say that I will be breastfeeding my baby. Now I am more inspired with the article I just read that breastfeeding raises children's IQ as well as improves academic performance. Of course, I am not forgetting the relevance of genetics. Children acquire intelligence from the parents and basic needs are just the secondary factors.

Breastfeeding Associated With Increased Intelligence, Study Suggests

The largest randomized study of breastfeeding ever conducted reports that breastfeeding raises children's IQs and improves their academic performance, a McGill researcher and his team have found.

In a new article, Dr. Michael Kramer reports the results from following the same group of 14,000 children for 6.5 years.

"Our study provides the strongest evidence to date that prolonged and exclusive breastfeeding makes kids smarter," said Kramer, a Professor of Pediatrics and of Epidemiology & Biostatistics in the McGill University Faculty of Medicine and lead investigator in the study. Read full article here...
